History of EDT

From Meadowvale, God enlightened our Pastor to purchase a building for His people. Walking by faith and not by sight, our leader stepped out believing and pursued God’s direction for the ministry. Once again God responded and opened up a door. In summer of 2006, Exodus continued her journey to Dixie and Mid-way where we purchased and owned our very first building. Indeed, God had a purpose for every area that we moved to as our mission was to serve the community in various facets. It was at Mid-way that our pastor launched the radio ministry on Joy 1250 and WDCX in September of 2009. We also established ‘Family Day’ to promote the values of God’s perspective on family. Family Day is now a well-established event reaching and educating many families on how to build their homes using God’s principles.

Today Exodus continues to move forward as the Spirit leads. With the desire to go where the harvest is plenty, God recently opened up an amazing door of opportunity for our ministry. In December of 2012, Exodus Deliverance Temple went to Streetsville, Mississauga to continue building His ministry. The Lord couldn't have given us a better area to continue our growth. As we are position in a place where the harvest is ripe, we continue to press towards the mark of the high calling, winning over God’s people one by one.

Like every ministry called by God, Exodus has faced mountains from every corner however, the ministry continues to pursue its calling by serving God’s people. With a prolific history of God’s constant provision and blessings, Exodus was and still is today a house of healing and restoration for many. It is evident that God has moved in amazing ways and has used Exodus Deliverance Temple to transform hundreds of lives in the Mississauga area. From feeding the homeless to advocating for youth and family, we continue to have a burning desire to establish Exodus on the social map to let God’s people know that His church is still a house of refuge and liberation.

Exodus: A Journey, A Called Out People, Freedom From Bondage...

Exodus Deliverance Temple was established in April 1999 in the City of Mississauga under the leadership of Bishop Clefrin F. Thompson. The call to ministry is not one that was chosen by Pastor Thompson; rather, he was divinely led by God to be the Shepherd of this flock.

Starting with only a few family members in a quaint and old white village hall, 6970 Second Line became the first home of Exodus Deliverance Temple for a little over four years. Within months of the establishment of this ministry, Exodus became known as a church built on prayer that embraced the wounded and the rejected. Exodus became a place of refuge and healing for many people from different walks of life.

In order to accommodate the growing ministry while following the leading of the Holy Spirit, Exodus moved to Meadowvale in 2003, a location that drew even more souls and created an opportunity for growth in God’s Kingdom. During our time in Meadowvale, Pastor Thompson spoke out on violence to deter youth from taking the wrong path and promoting higher education. He worked with MP’s of different areas and advocated for community development through various media outlets such as Rogers, City TV and Mississauga news. Out of this came the birth of our Annual Back on Track Back to School Free Community Barbeque which spreads education awareness and deter violence among our youth.
